Short-stay turnover checklist
Guests judge an apartment in the first minute. This is how to reset it between every stay, so the next guest walks into the same room as the one in your photos.
1. Before you clean: check
- Walk through and photograph anything damaged, broken or missing before you start
- Report it to the host straight away, so it can be raised with the guest in time
- Strip the beds and gather used towels first
2. Reset every room
- Kitchen: dishes washed and put away, fridge emptied of guest food, hob, microwave and worktops wiped, bins emptied and lined
- Bathroom: toilet, shower, basin and mirror cleaned, hair removed from drains, chrome polished dry
- Bedrooms and living areas: dust surfaces, check under beds and sofa cushions for lost items, vacuum and mop
3. Beds and towels to hotel standard
- Fresh linen, sheets pulled tight, pillows plumped and placed the same way every time
- Towels folded the same way, in the same place, every stay
- Consistency is what makes an apartment look professionally managed
4. Restock
- Toilet roll, hand soap, shampoo and shower gel
- Coffee, tea, sugar, washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets
- Bin liners and spare light bulbs
5. Final check and photos
Set the heating, lights and blinds, then walk through as if you were the guest: does it match the listing photos? Take a photo of every room and send it to the host before check-in.
Marinel does short-stay turnovers to this standard between every guest, with photos before check-in and damage reported the same day. How we work with short-stay operators, or request a fixed-price quote.
